Membership of the Society shall not at any time be less than seven
The Council shall have the following classes of membership
Corporate Members
All Handicrafts Development Corporations and Export Promotion Councils who are either sposored or established by Central Govt. or any State Govt. and are directly or indirectly connected with development and promotion of handicrafts shall be eligible for Corporate Membership of the Coucil
Institutional Members
All National level research institutions, educational and professional organisations, Govt. or Semi-Autonomous Bodies, Trust and Societies who are directly or indirectly engaged in any of the activities having a bearing on development and promotion of handicrafts shall be eligible for the institutional membershipof the Council. These members shall not have any voting rights . However they shall be entitled to such other rights and privileges as may be decided by the Committee from time to time.
Honorary Members
Such distinguished persons who have made significant contribution to the development and promotion of handicrafts or to the activities of the Council may be invited by the Committee to be admitted as Honorary Members of the Council . These members shall not have any voting rights.
The Committee shall have the absolute right to determine the admission of any person to any class of membership of the Council.it may , in its absolute discretion accept or reject any application for memship and the reasons for such refusal/ rejection shall be communicated to the applicant.
The Committee may from time to time provide for additional qualifications to be fulfilled for admission to each class of membership in the bye laws to be framed by it.
The bye laws to be framed by the Committee shall also provide for the names of members to be recorded in a Register of members and specify the procedure to be adopted in respect of such register.
If a member of the society shall change his address , he may notify to the society his new address but if he fails to notify such address, his address as recorded on the Roll of Members shall be deemed to be his address.
